Bicycle Licenses

All bicycles in the City of Carbondale, including SIU, are required to be registeredRegistering your bicycle helps law enforcement with the recovery of your bicycle in the event of loss or theft. All cyclists are required to obey State of Illinois motor vehicle laws.

You can register your bicycle in person at the Carbondale Police Department or by printing the registration form and mailing it with the $2 registration fee. If you choose to mail in your application, a registration sticker will be mailed to you at the address listed on your application.

Note: Bicycle licenses are valid for 2 years.
