Retail Theft Investigation

On 01-20-12 the City of Carbondale Police Department received a report of a retail theft in the 1200 block of East Main Street.  During the course of the investigation, officers learned a suspect concealed merchandise and left the business without offering payment on 01-20-12 around 2:20 p.m.  When stopped by a Loss Prevention officer, the suspect pushed the officer, dropped the merchandise, and fled the area on foot.  The suspect is described as a black male, 45-50 years old, 5’ 05” inches tall, about 240 pounds, with short gray hair.  The investigation into the incident is continuing.
