Unlawful Use of a Weapon

07-22-13 Web Release –Unlawful Use of Weapon Investigation

On 07-20-13 at 2:20 a.m., the City of Carbondale Police Department was in thearea of the 600 block of East Grand Avenue during routine patrol. During patrol, officers observed a subject, identified as Dwayne K. Davis, in possession of open alcohol.  As officers approached, Davis fled on foot. During the course of investigation, officers discovered that Davis was in possession of a loaded handgun. Davis was arrested and charged with Resistinga Peace Officer, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon bya Felon, Defacement of Identification Marks of a Firearm, and for not having a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card. Davis  was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
