2013 Thanksgiving Click It or Ticket Mobilization

Carbondale Police Department Reports Successful Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Mobilizations

 

Who:               Illinois Department of Transportation and the Carbondale Police Department

 

What:              From November 18 – December 1, 2013, IDOT supported enforcement to remind motorists to buckle up and not drive impaired, both day and night, during the merged Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilizations. The Carbondale Police Department joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway fatalities by cracking down on unbuckled motorists and impaired drivers.

During the mobilization, the Carbondale Police Department issued tickets and/or made arrests for the following:

14 seat belt citation

6 DUI arrests

10 felony arrests

1 stolen vehicle recovered

8 fugitives apprehended

8 suspended/revoked licenses

36 uninsured motorists

48 speeding citations

1 reckless driving citation

9 drug arrests

The annual Click It or Ticket mobilization may be over in Carbondale, but that is no excuse to stop using your seat belt.  “Our officers are out all year long.  If you or your passengers are caught not wearing a seat belt, day or night, you will be cited for the safety violation,” says Police Chief Jody O’Guinn.
