Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm Investigation

06-02-14Web Release –Unlawful Use of Weapon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm Investigation

On 06-01-14 at around 3:00 a.m., the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the 500 block of East Walnut Street in reference to a report of shots fired.  During the course of the investigation, it was determined that a verbal altercation occurred between two groups of people at a local business. During the altercation, a firearm was discharged.  Officers identified Jemond L. Pilgram as the suspect and he was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Disorderly Conduct. Pilgram was incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. The investigation into the incident continues.
