Burglary to Motor Vehicle Investigation Update

08-14-14 Web Release –Burglary to a Motor Vehicle Investigation Update

On 08-14-14, the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the area of the 100 block of West Monroe in reference to a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle in progress. Officers learned an unknown suspect unlawfully entered the unlocked vehicle around 12:13 a.m. on 8-14-14. The suspect was identified as Willie L. Suggs. Suggs matched the description of a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred in the same area on 07-01-14.  Suggs was charged with Burglary to Motor Vehicle for the July incident and Criminal Trespass to Motor Vehicle for the recent incident. He was incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail. The investigation into the incident is continuing.

07-03-14 Web Release – Burglary to Motor Vehicle Investigation

On 07-02-14, the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the 100 block of West Monroe Street in reference to a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Officers learned an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and stole property around 10:55 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on 07-01-14. The suspect is described as black male wearing a white shirt, jean shorts, and white shoes carrying laptop bag. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
