Attempted Robbery Investigation
08-15-14 Web Release –Attempted Robbery Investigation
On 08-14-14 at around 2:30 a.m., the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the area of West Cherry and South Ash Street in reference to a report of an attempted robbery that just occurred. Officers learned that the victim was walking in the 600 block of West Cherry Street when an unknown black male approached him. The suspect inferred he had a firearm and demanded personal property from the victim. The victim refused to turn over his property and the suspect fled southbound on foot down Poplar Street. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident. The investigation into the incident continues.
