Crime Stoppers Announces Reward in Death Investigation

Carbondale Crime Stoppers has authorized a $1,000 reward for information which leads to the arrest of Jarrell J. Pullen. He currently remains at large on a Jackson County warrant for First Degree Murder in relation to the death of Javon T. Trott. Pullen is considered to be armed and dangerous and the City of Carbondale Police Department requests members of the public not to approach him and contact police immediately. The police department also continues to encourage Pullen to turn himself in to avoid any further altercation.

Prior Release – Death Investigation
On 03-09-17 at approximately 5:29 p.m., the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the 400 block of East Willow Street in reference to a shooting. Officers found one individual with possible life threatening gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Javon T. Trott, age 19 of Johnston City, Illinois, was immediately transported to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale by ambulance where he was later pronounced deceased. During the course of the investigation detectives sought and received an arrest warrant with a $1,000,000 bond charging Jarrell J. Pullen, age 22 of Carbondale, with First Degree Murder. The investigation revealed the victim and suspect are acquaintances and were engaged in an altercation prior to the shooting. Pullen has not been located and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Prior Release - Aggravated Battery with a Firearm
On 03-09-17 at approximately 5:29 p.m., the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the 400 block of East Willow Street in reference to a shooting. Officers found one individual with possible life threatening gunshot wounds. The victim is not being identified at this time and the investigation is currently active. The victim was taken to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment. There is not any suspect information to provide at this time.
